Chris Whitcomb, MPAS, PA-C

Clinical

Chris Whitcomb, PA-C, is the Chief Clinical Officer at Savoy Life, where he is redefining how healthcare is delivered in senior living. Guided by the belief that healthcare should be personal—built around a patient’s values, goals, and voice—Chris leads a clinical transformation that empowers nurses, elevates the care experience, and proactively impacts outcomes.

Chris began his career as a primary care provider in community health in Spokane, WA, where he witnessed the deep inequities in access and outcomes for vulnerable populations. This ignited a lasting commitment to closing those gaps. He went on to serve as a house-call clinician and later Assistant Clinical Director at Crown Health, overseeing care delivery for the Spokane region.

At Optum, Chris led his market’s efforts to reduce hospital utilization across long-term care settings. There, he focused on strengthening the clinician-nurse partnership—using real-time, bedside feedback to direct timely interventions and prevent avoidable hospitalizations. He also served as a national PA leader within UnitedHealth Group, launching an initiative to elevate PA visibility and influence across the enterprise.

At Savoy Life, Chris is building a “last-mile” model of care in senior living—anchored by strong nurse-patient relationships, advanced care planning, and a technology-informed approach to risk and resource deployment. His leadership is grounded in common-sense care standards, front-line empathy, and a deep belief that teams should be measured by their impact, not just their billing output.

Chris earned his physician assistant degree from the University of Colorado and completed a Health Policy Fellowship through the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA). Outside of work, Chris is an avid gravity sports enthusiast who enjoys skiing and mountain biking with his wife and their two daughters in the Inland Northwest.
